4reasons for me to remember this date !
First is the B'day of my SIL, Second is the birth of my BIL's baby boy, Third was my faux pas regarding a B'day of my aunt - kochu valiamma & Fourth was the wonderful evening spent with friends n peers at my place
Well, regular B'day wishes are so mundane, so I prefer looking at other avenues how to be a mischief monger. We called our BIL - Bobby chettan early in the morning at around 3 am their time... the poor souls were expecting a call regarding the good news from their brother who's wife was in the labour room at that hour. Anyways, we woke them up, wished her and bid them a good sleep ahead
Later on in the day I had a chat with my second BIL - Chandu, who was getting worked up and fretting around like a miserable guy coz his wife was in the labour room. I told him to relax and sleep, or better still have some chilled Beer and take his mind off the tensions. Afterall whats the use of him getting worked up if that wouldnt help reduce his wife's pain ? Thats when he reminded me that every 1st is a DRY day in Kerala. How could I ever forget that ?? I had 2 KSBC beverage outlets near my residence at Cochin, and I know the umpteen number of serpentine queues on the nights before the 1st...! Anyways, he promised me to call up as soon as he had some news
Half way through the day my wife called up with the good news... wonder how news travels so fast ! The moment someone delivers, we have the news here...My BIL was surprised when I called him to congratulate... everything happened within a flash ... He sent me the pics this morning, a very cute baby..
Talking about Internet and its various communication tools that we are exposed to, I realised a faux pas when I called up my aunt in US to wish her on her supposed B'day...My uncle who picked the call was surprised, my aunt was even more...she was just getting up from her sleep & ended up fumbling for her calender. Some one had uploaded a wrong date as her B'day on a B'day reminder website, and me.trusting it blindly went on to call her on a day, a month earlier than her actual B'day :( A lesson learned
The evening went in a Jiffy, before we knew the bare house was filled with people.. Lejo, Sneha, Sammy boy, Nishad, Emy, Roji, Binoy, Teena, Thampu , Gagoo, Sunnychayan & fly....good get to gether, baptized nishad, emy & roji into the gang. I had a whale of time with the Kids, the gurls had a good time pulling Binoy's legs, Lejo & Nishad had their IT Talks..had a chinese home delivery take care of our tummies, the kids had a pillow fight in the bedroom...all together, it was an evening well spent. Quite a few fences were mended and new relationships forged.
Now the same room looks so empty ! When are we gonna have you folks back ?
